Membership and Joining North Avenue Church

Welcome!

If you are considering membership at North Avenue Church, we are so thankful! Church membership is one of the greatest privileges and responsibilities in the life of a believer. This page is intended to walk through what the membership application process looks like in our church, and provide you with more information to help you discern if joining North Avenue is the right step of faithfulness for you.

Membership Process

Membership at North Avenue Church is reserved for those with a credible testimony of salvation through faith alone in Christ alone and who have been baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as a believer. For those interested in joining, we ask that you do the following:

  1. Attend a prospective member Sunday School. These are taught twice annually during the Sunday School hour. Please attend in person when at all possible, but if you miss any Sunday, please watch the corresponding recording for that session.

  2. Review our Statement of Faith to better know what doctrines our church holds to and teaches. Applicants must affirm the Statement of Basic Beliefs section.

  3. Review our Church Covenant which outlines the biblical obligations of elders and members. New members will be asked to sign this document to attest to their understanding of these commitments.

  4. Submit a Membership Application in a timely manor for review and acceptance by our elders and the congregation. The next application deadline is March 8th to join in April of 2026.

  5. Meet with one or more of the elders of North Avenue after applying to share your testimony, other important information, and to ask any questions you may have of them before joining.

The elders and members of North Avenue Church will then consider all applicants for membership, and new members will be voted on at any of the regularly scheduled member meetings. New members will then formally join at the beginning of a Sunday morning service.
